Vera Time

At five months, our little girl is getting big! :(

Teeth are coming in (front, top and bottom), with one on the bottom already breaking through. We've started with the "solids" - bananas! And she's becoming a real mover and shaker.

Here's a little video of her in action (the quality is just so-so, so I'll have to see what I can do about that), and there will be more to come!

UPDATE! See Vera eat! (Turn your head 90 degrees to the left to view.)

The Big Trip

UPDATE: Here's a link to Uncle John's slide show!

We have returned from the summer portion of our biannual trip to visit both of our families, and I happy to say that it was a smashing success!

Everyone that could come came to Vera-xplosion in NY. Shout-outs to Unkie Josh, Aunt Tracey and Uncle John, The Northrups for making to the "xplosion". Thank you to everyone who was there or even just there in spirit! While at Amma and Boppa's house, Deacon enjoyed the pool, a trip the National Toy Hall of Fame, and lots-o-love from his Grandparents. Thanks to Mom and Dad H.(Amma and Boppa) for throwing a heck of a party and for being such wonderful hosts during our stay. We wish we were there!

In Ohio, Deacon and Vera enjoyed some quality time with all of their cousins and in Aunt Di's pool. Weezie and Papa we're gracious hosts as their home was over-run with all the little ones. (Just wait till the holidays!) As you'll see, it was also the start of the Hall of Fame week in Canton (where the football hall of fame is located if you didn't know). Hot air balloons are a big part of the opening weekend (couldn't tell you why), and I don't think a day went by that we didn't see one in the sky. One flew right over the house - it was quite low too! Needless to say, Deacon loved it all.

Now that our parents' houses are quiet and we're back in ours, I think we all wish that we lived a little closer (actually, I know this as fact since it was frequently the subject of conversation). While that's certainly something to think about in the future, we're happy to be in our home again. It will be too long before we get to see you all again, but we'll be counting the days until then.

In the meantime, let's enjoy some pictures! BTW, if you have any pictures from our trip (Uncle John, I'm looking in your direction) feel free to email them to us (or send us the link in picasa, flickr, etc.) and we'll get them up here.
