Within this past month our household will have celebrated three birthdays. Vera is 2, Deacon is 4, and I'm older. My birthday party consisted of Asheville's finest pizza and beer. For Vera it was a fun family outing to the Health Adventure and for Deacon it was "Chucker Cheese" (Chuck E. Cheese).
The Health Adventure was great. As far as I can tell the kids didn't learn a thing, but we all had great time. Vera is so nurturing. She loves her babies and playing house. Aside from being absolute-ly adorable she's also very articulate, expressive, and persistent.
Chuck E. Cheese. Honestly, some of my fondest memories from my youth were from this pizza-token-ticket slinging establishment. While it's not the same, there was still skee ball, air hockey, and a video game or two. More rides, and a climbing structure rather than a ball pit or cavernous cheese wall, CEC nevertheless delivered on the fun. Everyone (except for one extremely terrified child) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was easy, entertaining, and they had "beer" available in "large" size. What more can you ask for?

Blog Hibernation Complete
Yawn... Our winter's nap is over and it's time to start seeing what we've missed.
Let's begin with a little of the Holiday Spirit of Christmas Past. We did our great northerly travels for what could be the last time for a long time. If you don't know, Amma and Boppa H. are moving from Farmington, NY to Hendersonville, NC. They'll be a scant 20-25 minutes down the road. So yes, I'm nostalgic about my "home" moving, but I can say we're all thrilled about the Heimburg homestead 2.0 heading our way.
Anywho, let me summarize the whole thing with my own brand of armchair poetry. With bourbon slush and mistletoe, and not a drop of ice or snow, a distant traveling we did go. We traveled north and then north some more. All along with enough beer for a tasting or three, our final stop before home was a remote cabin for New Year's Eve. While we lit the yule log and decked the halls, our family and loved ones surrounded us all. That was the best gift we could hope to receive, and if you like the pictures here, a comment you can leave.
Bonus: 7 pictures from January. Woot!
Spring has sprung and we're off and moving! Literally. We're moving to West Asheville! More on that and more pictures of our big kids next week.

Thanksgiving
I don't know about you, but I missing eating and drink and carrying on at will. It was all to quick of a visit with Josh and Amma and Boppa H., but it whet our appetite for our upcoming annual northward trek to see (almost) all the family! Now if we can just survive the next 3 weeks.
Perhaps it's not surprising, but there ended up being an inverse relationship between the amount of fun we had and the number of pictures took. Enjoy!
The Catch Up
